FO: Framed Slouch

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Rhinebeck NY for the Sheep and Wool Festival. It was amazing to actually be there and see some real knitting celebs *although I didn’t  see as many as I would have liked*

I’ll talk more about Rhinebeck in another post but today I am all about an FO I wore there. I had big plans for all kinds of Rhinbeck sweaters that I was going to bang out this summer but being pregnant changed the ball on everything and I didn’t get hardly ANY knitting done at all. I seem to completely loose any lack of mojo in the first trimester. It is more about survival, getting enough sleep and trying to stay awake!

So back to that FO…. a couple of weeks before Rhinebeck I was knitting my test of Frosty Acorn that I showed you last time. In my head I was planning a sweater and a hat that I could wear to Rhinebeck that would jump on my needles and be knit like the wind.

Well the hat came first because I really needed an instant gratification knit.

Pattern: Framed Slouch by Tanis Lavallee

Yarn: Tanis Fiber Arts Green Label in Fjord

Needles: 4mm and 4.5mm

Now before you say “That doesn’t look like much of a slouch!” Yeah… I totally forgot to slouch the hat before the pics. We were leaving Rhinebeck to come home and I asked Michelle if she could snap some quick pics, threw on the hat and didn’t think a thing about it until I saw the pics.

Truth be told I like it either way and it will probably be worn both ways depending on my mood.

I bought this yarn in one of Tanis’s boxing day updates a couple of years ago. It has been sitting in my stash quietly waiting for the right pattern to jump out at me. It just so happens that I have had framed slouch sitting in my library waiting to be knit up…. how could I go wrong??

The best part was, the cardi I started for Rhinebeck 7 days before the actual event didn’t get finished… no surprises there! *face palm* so I took my favourite cardi to date and ended up representing my favourite East Coast Indie in style!

“Rhinebeck baby! ” was Michelle’s constant phrase used this weekend and I feel like this picture is a perfect companion for that phrase!

More about Rhinebeck soon!
